K.K. Sheets Uniaxially Oriented Nylon Sheets
High-performance industrial material specifically engineered as a base core for power transmission and conveyor belts
High-performance industrial material specifically engineered as a base core for power transmission and conveyor belts

By stretching Nylon 6 in a single direction (uniaxial orientation), the material achieves mechanical properties comparable to steel while remaining as flexible as plastic.
Below is a detailed breakdown of its composition, types, and technical advantages.
Material Types & Applications
Depending on the environment and tension requirements,
K.K. Sheets nylon offers one type of nylon sheet :
• KHS Type (High Strength): Features a high modulus and high strength, specifically designed for high-tension applications.
Structural Advantages
The primary benefit of using K.K. Sheets nylon over conventional nylon is the significant increase in width and thickness.
• Reduced Joint Failure: Traditional sheets were limited to 60–90 mm in width; K.K. Sheets are available up to 520 mm. This width allows for fewer joints in the belt construction, which is the most common point of failure.
• Integrated Belt Structure: These sheets act as the "bone" of the belt, typically sandwiched between layers of leather or rubber.
• Cost Efficiency: Thicker and wider sheets mean less bonding is required during manufacturing, directly reducing processing costs.
Technical Specifications
Dimensions and Availability
The sheets are manufactured to precise tolerances (ranging from \pm0.02 to \pm0.08 mm depending on thickness).
Features Specifications
Thickness Options. 0.20, 0.35, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00, 1.25, 1.50, and 1.75 mm
Standard Widths. 320 mm and 520 mm
Optional Widths. 400 mm and 540 mm (available for bulk orders)
Standard Lengths. 108 m, 216 m, and 250 m
Physical Properties
Across all types, the nylon maintains consistent physical stability:
• Specific Gravity: 1.14.
• Melting Point: 225°C.
• Water Absorption: 3.0%.
• Electrical Insulation: High volume resistivity (10^{14} \Omega \dot cm) and surface resistivity (10^{13} \Omega).
Chemical & Environmental Resistance
K.K. Sheets are designed for harsh industrial environments and show high resistance to various chemicals:
• Highly Resistant (Grade A): No effect from Acetone, Diesel Oil, or Benzene.
• Resistant To: Alkalis, alcohols, oils, hydrocarbons, and seawater.
• Vulnerabilities: The material will dissolve if exposed to Phenol (Grade E) and suffers moderate attack from Sulphuric Acid (Grade C).
Packaging for Industrial Use
To ensure the material remains pristine until use, it is shipped with specialised protection:
• Core: Wound on a PVC tube with a 150 mm diameter.
• Protective Layers: Encased in a double polyethylene bag and an aluminium laminated bag to prevent moisture contamination, then placed in a sturdy outer carton.
